On December 22, 2017, President Trump signed the tax reform bill, “An Act to Provide for Reconciliation Pursuant to Titles II and V of the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2018," into law, marking the largest change to U.S. tax policy since the 1980's. The new law will have potential positive and negative impacts on many construction companies. Lower tax rates, changes to the percentage of completion method and UNICAP rules could benefit your construction company but potential new tax law pitfalls must be avoided. With most of the provisions already in effect, it is important that construction executives review the tax law changes during the 2018 business planning process to understand the impact to their companies. Join CFMA for an informative session on tax reform’s potential impact on the construction industry.
