What are the CFMA educational offerings?

The CFMA’s educational offerings include courses, various specialized knowledge module seminars, professional development programs, and the National Annual Conference and Exhibition.   Additionally, all provide opportunities for the exchange of information and technical support, networking referrals, and employment opportunities.

What are some of the courses/seminar topics?

Basics of Construction Accounting, Risk Management, Construction Taxation, Information Systems/Technology Update, Mechanics Liens, Cash Management, Project Management, etc.

Are CPE Credits awarded for attendance at seminars and courses?
Yes, certain seminars and courses award CPE credits.

Where are the courses/seminars offered?
The Pittsburgh chapter sponsored presentations are held at various office locations throughout the Pittsburgh area.

Does the CFMA support and cooperate with any other organizations and professional groups?

Yes, the CFMA co-sponsors programs and seminars with the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA), Associated General Contractors (AGC), and the International Risk Management Institute (IRMI).

Does the CFMA offer any specialized publications?

Members receive the award-winning, bi-monthly magazine, CFMA Building Profits.   Targeted specifically to financial professionals in the construction industry, this publication contains an outstanding selection of feature articles, technical updates, and industry news. Are there any opportunities to network with members from other chapters across the United States?

Yes, there are regional and national events. Additionally, as a member you will have access to the names/companies of all CFMA members for direct communication.

Are there any social activities?

Yes, the Pittsburgh chapter presents an Annual Holiday Luncheon, an annual Dinner honoring a local financial professional, and a Golf Outing.    Additionally, the National Annual Conference and Exhibition is a 3 day educational, networking and social event.

Does the CFMA participate in any volunteer opportunities, such as Rebuilding Together, etc.?

Yes, the CFMA – Pittsburgh chapter has sponsored members to participate in the annual Rebuilding Together – Pittsburgh day.  The CFMA is always interested in participating in volunteer opportunities related to the construction financial industry.
