CFMA/ABA Joint Breakfast: Turning Awareness Into Action in Construction Mental Health

Sep 10, 2025 - 7:30 AM (PT) - Evie's Pavilion Papago Golf Club 5595 E. Karsten Way, Phoenix, AZ 85008
Hosted by Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, AZ

About this Event

Mental health awareness in construction has come a long way—but awareness alone isn’t enough. It’s time to move from conversation to real, on-the-ground action. Join us for this action-oriented panel discussion led by David James, a subject matter expert with the Construction Alliance for Suicide Prevention. This powerful session will go beyond statistics and surface-level dialogue to explore practical strategies for building a culture of mental wellness on the jobsite. You’ll also hear firsthand from two contractors who are leading by example: CEO, David Gianetti – Felix Construction & CFO, Karl Kortman – Kortman: Energy Driven Solutions. Both leaders will share how their companies are actively addressing mental health and suicide prevention. From implementing training and policy to creating environments where it's okay to speak up and ask for help.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Real-world insight from construction professionals taking action
  • Proven approaches to fostering mental wellness in the field
  • Guidance on how to start or strengthen your own initiatives.
  • An open, supportive space to learn, ask questions, and be part of the solution.

Let’s break the silence, challenge the stigma, and take meaningful steps to protect our most valuable asset... our people.
